About EEPC India: Role & Activities

Initiatives in the Defence Sector
EEPC India organized the first edition of Indian MSME Defence Week from 23-26th March 2021, on Virtual Platform. The show was a wide success. EEPC India takes lead in bridging the latest emerging trends and opportunities in Defence sector with engineering MSMEs across the engineering clusters in India. It regularly organizes various platforms such as:

  1. Organizes Vendor Development & Sourcing Opportunities with Defence PSUs
  2. Organizes Interactions on technology collaboration opportunities
  3. Organizes exhibitions to showcase various Defence PSUs, and their opportunities to collaborate with MSMEs
  4. Works towards regularly disseminating latest trends in policies, rules and market developments through its research and publication desk
Sourcing & Vendor Development
For a long time, EEPC India has played a crucial role in fostering the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by organizing dedicated Sourcing and Vendor Development Meets with major Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) across vital sectors such as Railways, Defence, and Power. These meetings serve as invaluable platforms, directly connecting MSMEs with the procurement needs of large PSUs. ​
The long-term significance of these initiatives extends beyond immediate business transactions. These ongoing engagements facilitate crucial knowledge transfer, improve product quality, and align with global manufacturing standards to meet the stringent demands of sectors like defense and railways. Furthermore, such collaborations contribute significantly to the "Make in India" and "Aatmanirbhar Bharat" initiatives by promoting indigenous manufacturing and reducing import dependency. By continuously bridging the gap between MSME capabilities and PSU requirements, EEPC India's vendor development cultivates a robust and self-reliant industrial ecosystem, fostering sustainable growth, generating employment, and strengthening India's domestic supply chain across critical infrastructure and strategic sectors.​
Technology Upgradation
Its acts as a bridge among R&D Academia, Industry and the Government departments for New Technology Development, Transfer & facilitating funding support.
In addition to the above, EEPC India aims to ensure competitiveness of the Indian engineering sector particularly the MSMEs, EEPC India carries out various activities like technology promotion, branding, design intervention, quality and accreditation, skill development, IPR to name a few. EEPC India has also been The objective of such programs is to integrate the MSME sector in the manufacturing value chain and widen the scope of MSMEs in nation building and manufacturing.

EEPC India is the premier trade and investment promotion organisation in India. It is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, and caters to the Indian engineering sector. Set up in 1955, EEPC India now has a membership base of over 9,500 out of whom over 60% are SMEs.
